Katy Perry plans vintage fashion line
Katy Perry is reportedly planning to launch a fashion range similar to Gwen Stefani's "bright and vintage-looking" line.
The 28-year-old pop singer is rumoured to have begun discussions on the range with her stylist and close friend Johnny Wujek.
The debut clothing collection from the singer would be based on her own fashion idols and created for a young female market.
"Katy has been asked about setting up her own fashion line for years. But she's started to talk about it seriously with Johnny now," an insider revealed to British newspaper The Sun.
"They would use inspiration from the likes of Dita Von Teese and Gwen Stefani because they are sophisticated dressers very bright and vintage-looking stuff."
Katy has had huge success with her own branded perfumes, Purr and Meow, so it seems natural that a clothing line should follow suit.
The star's move into designing comes hot on the heels of her friend and fellow pop princess Rihannas recent collaboration with UK high street store River Island on a young fashion line.
Meanwhile, Katy is set to make an appearance at this weekend's Grammy Awards where she will present a prize on the night.
Johnny, who will be dressing the Teenage Dream star for the high profile event, hinted on Twitter that he has something special planned.
"@JohnnyWujek has in store @katyperry to wear at the @TheGRAMMYs It's going to rock your socks," Johnny re-tweeted.
