Gwen Stefani creates snowboarding range

Gwen Stefani has developed a line of snowboarding clothes that are "cute fitting" and edgy.

The founder of fashion brand L.A.M.B. has collaborated with US outerwear company Burton to form the new collection of cold weather gear.

Speaking about the reasons behind her latest designs, Gwen said she wanted to create flattering snowboarding attire that reflects her personal style.

"You dont think of snowboarding pants as being super-flattering by nature so we tried to mix masculine and feminine," Gwen explained to WWD, "which we always do, and give them a really cute fit, then added a tuxedo stripe for that edge.

The ten-piece collection contains brash and bold patterns and L.A.M.B.'s signature street-style details.

A punk influence can also be seen, with details like oversize zippers and military quilting featuring in the looks.

On-trend houndstooth patterns make an appearance, as well as parka jackets trimmed with Gwen's favourite red, green and yellow coloured stripes.

This line offered the No Doubt frontwoman a new design challenge.

"We worked really hard on the pants," Gwen continued. The clothing itself is really technical. We havent done that before so it was a new challenge.

Chief creative officer of Burton Greg Dacyshyn hopes more future collaborations with the star will take place.

The pieces are a unique mash-up of Gwens bold style combined with on-mountain functionality, Greg gushed.

Gwen's looks can be purchased from September time this year at Burton flagship stores and online.

The prices range from $20 for a beanie hat to $180 for a jacket.
