Rihanna inspired by Stefani's son

Rihanna's famous Mohawk hairstyle was inspired by Gwen Stefani's son Kingston.
The sultry songstress has sported a variety of hairstyles in the past, including blunt bangs, fiery red tresses, long wavy locks and an ultra-curly brunette look.
One of her most popular styles was the edgy blonde Mohawk cut, and the star's hairstylist Ursula Stephen has revealed the inspiration behind the 'do.
"If I remember correctly, Gwen Stefani's son, Kingston, inspired this one. Ri showed me a picture of him and we thought he was so cute with his Mohawk. So I just did my own version!" she exclaimed in an interview with Juicy magazine.
Ursula has revealed how she fashioned the edgy look on Rihanna. The beauty wowed with the cut, and Ursula says the style is easy to re-create with the help of an expert.
"I created a smooth foundation by relaxing the hair with Motions Silkening Shine Relaxer System. Then I washed and moulded her hair. I shaped the sides and back of the head with clippers, adding Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion to the longer hair at the crown and moulded it upward and toward the right side of her head," she explained.
"She sat under a hooded dryer to set the style. Next, I curled sections of her hair in a backward motion, up and away from her face. I finished with Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade and Motions Hold and Shine Spray to keep it in place."
